Triumph HealthCare Successfully Relocates Hospital

Triumph Hospital Town & Country is now Triumph Hospital West Houston

(Houston, Texas/March 26, 2007) – Triumph HealthCare announced the successful relocation of Triumph Hospital Town & Country last week. The newly located 36 bed hospital will operate as Triumph Hospital West Houston, within Spring Branch Medical Center at 8850 Long Point. This move follows the abrupt notice in January for Triumph to vacate the premises of their hospital, located inside of the former Houston Town & Country Hospital, by the developer of the property, Medical Properties Trust (MPT).

“To identify a new location, become licensed and move patients in a two month timeframe is nothing short of miraculous,” stated Brock Hardaway, Chief Operating Officer for Triumph HealthCare. “We could not have accomplished this without the strong commitment from administration at Spring Branch Medical Center and the dedication of our wonderful team at Triumph Hospital West Houston.”

Although Triumph had performed all its contractual obligations at the Town & Country location, where they operated since December 2005, MPT did not recognize Triumph’s ten year sublease and sold the property to Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Memorial Hermann in turn negotiated a short term lease with Triumph that allowed them time to complete the relocation without suspending operations.

“We moved 14 patients and all went extremely smooth,” relayed Eileen Branscome, CEO for Triumph Hospital West Houston. “Our medical staff has been very supportive and is excited to have Triumph co-located within an active hospital again” added Branscome.
